Editorial illustrations for a magazine article about the basic laws of science. The top image was the opening spread art, followed by three interior supporting illustrations. The stacks of paper reflect the staggering amount of biological information in nature; the bouncing balls are about the second law of thermodynamics; and the bird in a petri dish is related to biogenesis. The initial brief for the project was to be a more serious tone, but as the article developed the editor-in-chief and creative director wanted to move towards a fun and relatable feel. The last two images were drafts presented for biogenesis and thermodynamics before the change in direction.
